This is not a traditional customer service role.
This position sits at the center of order management, production, and distribution, ensuring orders move seamlessly from entry to delivery within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
You’ll lead a team while remaining hands-on—owning the order-to-cash (OTC) process, partnering cross-functionally, and solving operational challenges that directly impact customer delivery and plant performance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Customer Service / Inside Sales representatives
- Oversee the end-to-end order-to-cash (OTC) process:
- Order entry
- Production coordination
- Inventory & fulfillment
- Shipping & delivery
- Invoicing
- Act as the central point of coordination between Sales, Production, Warehouse, and Logistics teams
- Manage open orders, backorders, and delivery timelines to ensure on-time performance
- Step in on escalations and complex orders, resolving issues at the root cause level
- Utilize ERP systems (SAP preferred) to manage order flow, visibility, and issue resolution
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for order management processes and system usage
- Track and improve key performance metrics, including:
- Order accuracy
- On-time delivery
- Backorder reduction
- Customer satisfaction (CSAT)
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements to drive efficiency and scalability
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in:
- Customer Service
- Inside Sales
- Order Management
within manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments
- 3+ years of team leadership experience in a player-coach capacity
- Strong understanding of order flow through production, warehouse, and shipping operations
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred)
- Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing priorities
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and sales teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with industrial products (pipe, fittings, building materials, etc.)
- Exposure to Lean / Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience working directly with plant or distribution center teams
Role Details
- Onsite: Lodi, CA (plant-connected office)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Travel: Up to 15% (plants, distribution centers, customer visits)
- Relocation: Available (case-by-case)
