Hiring: Shutdown Driver/Operator
Pay: $30.00–$32.00/hour (Weekly Pay)
*Depending on Experience.
*Overtime paid per applicable provincial labor standards.

Position Overview

We are hiring experienced Shutdown Drivers/Operators to support industrial shutdown and turnaround projects across Canada. This role requires extensive travel, long shifts, and hands-on operation of heavy manual transmission equipment in high-safety industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Class 3 manual equipment including vacuum trucks, hydro vacs, combo units, steamers, hot oilers, and high-pressure units
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation
  • Safely operate 13-speed and 18-speed manual transmissions
  • Complete physical labor related to industrial turnaround work
  • Use electronic log systems and follow all safety procedures
  • Participate in shutdown/turnaround operations requiring extended hours and on-call availability

Schedule & Travel Requirements

  • Rotations: 6/1, 12/2, 18/3, or 24/4 (rotation assigned; no selection)
  • Shifts range from 8–14 hours per day (no guarantee of hours)
  • Day and night shifts required
  • 100% overnight travel required across Canada
  • Accommodations provided: camp with meals or hotel with per diem
  • Flights provided
  • Candidates traveling from outside Edmonton must remain onsite for the full turnaround duration

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1, 3, AZ, or DZ driver’s license
  • Manual transmission experience required (13- or 18-speed only; no exceptions)
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial driving or shutdown/turnaround experience
  • Ability to pass a driver evaluation and provide a clean driver’s abstract
  • Shutdown/turnaround experience required
  • Must be clean shaven and able to wear a full-face respirator (non-negotiable)

Safety Certifications

  • CSO and CSTS 2020 – required
  • Preferred: H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, First Aid

Physical & Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
  • Work environment includes loud noise, moving equipment, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and wet or humid conditions
